Ashland Cold Storage provides local transportation services for Chicago area customers through our Ashland Logistics (ASLO) division. Local pick-up and delivery service is performed by our in-house carrier under the direction of seasoned transportation professionals with over 30 years of experience. ASLO can provide transportation solutions for product moving in and out of Ashland Cold Storage and additional local routing.
ASLO maintains ICC Property Brokers Authority. This gives ASLO the ability to move product in or out of cold storage for customers needing assistance with traffic moving throughout the United States. This service is not limited to product moving in or out of Ashland Cold Storage but can be utilized for any type of outside business.
ASLO has been able to leverage industry contacts in order to provide consolidated or pool type of shipping programs. Please contact us for further information.
Ashland Cold Storage currently processes 20+ export/import orders per week. ACS has experience exporting to over 50+ countries and US military bases throughout the world. Services include:
USDA approved inspection facilities
ACS offers U.S. Department of Agriculture inspection services required for importing and exporting. We work directly with USDA inspectors to schedule inspections, assist with inspection, stamp products with authorized USDA approval stamps and stack product as required.
Documentation
ACS can assist with a variety of documentation related to inspections, imports and exports for the USDA, Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Customs or Import Brokers. Bills of Landing and packaging lists can be specially prepared for our customers for export containers.
Container loading and unloading
ACS can arrange labor to perform these services for floor loaded, slip-sheeted or palletized products. Loading export containers in designated delivery sequence can be requested.

Ashland has two natural gas generators as well as natural gas driven refrigeration equipment that guarantee uninterrupted maintenance of our customer’s required product temperatures in the event of failure in the electrical grid
